CALLING ALL CLUBS!

On September 11, 2026, organizations across America will unite for the largest single-day meal pack in history — packing 20 million meals for families in need across 50+ U.S. cities.

We can be part of this great service effort from start to finish.  How?

Event setup: Coordinate and assist organizers in the physical setup. Tables, chairs, equipment, start-up supplies, and many other “pieces of the puzzle” go into making large-scale events happen. You can be part of that.

Meal Packers: The folks at the tables putting food into bags, boxes, and crates. All training will be accomplished prior to the event, so just getting there and volunteering are the elements necessary.

Ingredient Runners: As the Meal Packers use the ingredients up and supplies start to diminish, the Ingredient Runners are assigned to track it and respond with more before the tables run out. These volunteers are essential to continuous packing operations.

Box Runners: Packed meals need to be put into boxes and those boxes start to stack up. The Box Runners “patrol” the tables and continuously resupply packers with empty boxes and transport full ones to storage areas.

Event Teardown: Physically taking any large event down also takes lots of hands and effort. Event organizers have planned for this function but still need volunteers to accomplish that.

Remember to wear your Lions Vest, Club Shirt or MD-21 State Shirt!  We will explore event specific shirts based on the volume of volunteers who sign up!

Registration can occur as individuals OR as a Club OR in a larger registration. Contact Lion Sheila or Lion Bobbie so they will know the method you have chosen.

Special Endorsement Election at the       MD21 Mid-Year Convention

A Proud Moment for Arizona Lions

Arizona Lions are preparing for an exciting and significant moment in our Lionistic journey.

At the MD21 Council Meeting on August 8, 2026, the Council voted unanimously to hold a special endorsement election for international office at the MD21 Mid-Year Convention on November 7, 2026.

LCIF Trustee and Past International Director Marie Cunning has formally announced her candidacy for Lions Clubs International Third Vice President. Her home club, the Barangay Lions Club, submitted its letter announcing her candidacy and providing official notice.

PID Marie Cunning is a highly respected and well-deserving candidate whose years of service have taken her from club and district leadership to the international level. Her dedication to Lions, strong commitment to LCIF, and passion for service and leadership have earned her the respect of Lions in Arizona and beyond.

Having an Arizona Lion step forward for consideration for one of the highest leadership positions in our international association is truly a proud moment for Arizona Lionism.

A Journey of Support:

The path toward the November convention has already demonstrated strong enthusiasm across Arizona.

At its August 1, 2026 Kickoff, District 21N voted unanimously to hold a special District 21N endorsement election for international office at the request of candidate PID Marie Cunning.

District 21S also voted unanimously at its Kickoff to support PID Marie Cunning’s candidacy for International Third Vice President.

Then, at the MD21 Council Meeting on August 8, the Council voted unanimously to hold a special election at the Mid-Year gathering, giving eligible voters the opportunity to determine whether to endorse a candidate for international office. The Council also voted to officially rename the gathering the MD21 Mid-Year Convention.

The ability to conduct the special endorsement election at the Mid-Year Convention was reviewed by 21N CBL Chairperson/PCC Phil Whitaker, 21S CBL Chairperson/CC Keith Alexander, and MD21 CBL Chairperson PCC Jim Sterenberg, who agreed that the election may be conducted at the Mid-Year Convention under the applicable governing provisions.

Your Club’s Voice Matters — Prepare Your Delegates:

Delegate and Alternate forms will be distributed to all clubs. Club presidents and secretaries are encouraged to share this information with their members and complete the required certification process so eligible delegates can participate in this important election.

Clubs must meet the applicable good-standing requirements for delegate certification. To avoid any eligibility concerns close to the convention, all clubs are strongly encouraged to review their accounts and clear outstanding Lions Clubs International and applicable local dues by September 30, 2026, particularly any obligations approaching the applicable 90-day threshold.

Taking care of these requirements early will help ensure a smooth delegate-certification process and protect every eligible club’s opportunity to have its voice represented.

Important Information for Past District Governors:

There is also an important voting consideration for our Past District Governors (PDGs).

Under the current Lions Clubs International framework, District and Multiple District Constitutions and By-Laws may provide eligible Past District Governors in good standing with voting/delegate status independent of their home club’s regular delegate allocation.

PDGs who intend to participate should review the applicable Constitution and By-Laws and the official delegate-certification instructions for the November 7 convention to confirm their eligibility and any required certification procedures.

November 7 — Let Arizona Lions’ Voices Be Heard:

The special endorsement election belongs to the eligible voting delegates and PDGs of MD21. Their votes will determine whether a candidate receives the endorsement of our Multiple District for international office.

That responsibility is an important part of the democratic process of our association.

At the same time, we should recognize what this moment represents. When an Arizona Lion is willing and qualified to step forward for international leadership, it reflects the strength of the leaders, clubs, districts, and service culture we have built together.

PID Marie Cunning’s journey reminds us that leadership begins with service—in our clubs, in our communities, and wherever Lions are called to serve.

Whatever role each of us plays in this process, November 7 is an opportunity to come together as one MD21 family, exercise our voting responsibility, and celebrate Arizona Lionism on an international stage.

Mark your calendar for November 7, 2026. Share this information with your club, keep your club in good standing, prepare your delegates, and join us at the MD21 Mid-Year Convention.

One Arizona. One Lions Family. One Proud Moment.

We Serve — Together, from Arizona to the World!

Lion Annabelle Kline

In Memory of Lion Annabelle Kline
1991–2026

It is with profound sadness that the Lions of District 21-S and the Huachuca City Lions Club announce the passing of our dear friend and fellow Lion, Lion Annabelle Kline.

For 35 years, from 1991 to 2026, Lion Annabelle faithfully lived the Lions motto, “We Serve.” Her dedication to Lionism and her unwavering commitment to serving her community left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who follow in her footsteps.

Throughout her remarkable journey as a Lion, Annabelle proudly served as a member of the Sierra Vista Lions Club, the Tombstone Lions Club, and the Huachuca City Lions Club, leaving a positive and enduring impact on each club she called home. Wherever she served, she was known for her welcoming spirit, tireless work ethic, and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Lion Annabelle generously shared her time, talents, and leadership by serving in numerous club and district positions, including Tail Twister, Club Director, Club LCIF Coordinator, Club Membership Chair, Club Treasurer, Club Secretary, Zone Chair, Region Chair and the ALERT Program for 21 years serving on the board for most of her time. In every office she held, she led with integrity, compassion, and a genuine desire to strengthen Lions Clubs and the communities they serve.

Lion Annabelle will be remembered not only for the titles she held, but for the kindness she showed, the friendships she built, the members she mentored, and the countless lives she touched through her service. She embodied the very best of Lionism, always placing service above self and inspiring others to do the same.

The Huachuca City Lions Club and District 21-S are forever grateful for her decades of dedication, leadership, and friendship. Her legacy will live on through the projects she championed, the Lions she encouraged, and the communities she helped strengthen.

During this difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to Lion Annabelle’s family, friends, and fellow Lions. May they find comfort in knowing that her life of service made a meaningful difference and that her memory will forever remain a cherished part of our Lions family.

Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate an extraordinary life devoted to service, leadership, and friendship. Lion Annabelle’s light will continue to shine through the work we do and the lives we touch in her honor.

Rest in peace, Lion Annabelle Kline. Thank you for 35 years of faithful service. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of those you served beside and in the communities, you helped make better. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and never forgotten.
