During the Saturday, August 11th 21C Kick-Off Meeting, District Governor Doug Harris focused the meeting on the LCIF 100 Campaign, Vision and Service Projects.
Guest speakers included 2018 Miss Arizona Isabel Ticlo, a member and Officer of the Chandler Lions Club; Karen Woodhouse of “Eyes on Learning”, a Virginia Piper Charitable Trust initiative; Coordinator Lion Donna Harris officially launching the statewide LCIF-VSP program of available gift certificates during club Vision Screening events and McKenna Bidelman, Americorps VISTA Member Coordinator for the State of Arizona “Service Enterprise Initiative”.
DG Doug included an announcement that MD21 would host a booth at ASU-West on December 7, 2018 in conjunction with the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family to highlight Lions Service Projects offered to Arizona communities.
The meeting also included the launch of a new product for the blind asking all 21C Lions Clubs to become advocates in promoting the En-Vision America, Inc. Prescription Reader by obtaining a totally FREE Demo Kit and as a club service project conduct community demonstrations of its use and availability.
All participants came away with a renewed interest in Lionism having viewed new ideas and most of all NEW Service Projects for their community.
