11/10/2012 Phoenix Metro

It is that time of year again when we start thinking about the Christmas Holiday. This year The Phoenix Metro Lions is again providing Christmas Joy for 450-500 underprivledged children in one elementary school in Phoenix. This is a Title one school with greater that 95% poverty. We are in need of toys for all of these children from pre-school through 2nd grade. Dolls, trucks, cars, games, balls, whatever. Most toys should be in the 2-5 dollar range and be new and unwrapped. If each of you could provide a toy or funds we could come much closer to our goal. Your help is very much needed. I will be happy to shop for you or pick up any donations. PLEASE HELP us in our endeavor.

Please contact Lion Karen Pryce via e-mail to donate toys or funds.

Peoria Pioneer & Bellair Lions Clubs hold their 6th Annual Oktoberfest

After having had five successful Oktoberfest celebrations the Clubs are holding their sixth-annual affair again at the Peoria Women’sClub 10381 N having our special brats grilled by our European Lion Chef Ken Dial and we will be serving lots of potato salad. Also we will be having that German favorite “sauerkraut” and plenty of drinks, (non-alcoholic) with dessert provided by the gracious fraus of the Clubs. Come and join us for a night of German music and frivolity on Thursday, October 11, from 5PM to 7PM. The cost will be $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 12 years and under. Hot dogs will be provided for those children and adults that would prefer them rather than brats.
For tickets or information call Lion Ron Brown 623-977-8844 or Lion Mike Shine 602-938-5998
